Finding The Time…..

A little introduction.

I’ve been tagged in my first meme by a new twitter friend: The Lovely Fiona who blogs at Coombe Mill. This lovely lady has a lovely blog which I would recommend to follow.  The Meme was started by Sex, Drugs, Rocker and… Stroller and now it’s my turn!

Please post the rules.

How and when do you find the time to…

….do your laundry?

This is my worst trait, I hate doing the laundry not because of the job its self but because I have a bad habit of leaving it to ‘mount up’. I regularly do the children washing  one or two washes a week, but i personally have enough clothes to go weeks without doing any at all. I have only recently got myself an ironing board (pinched of mother) so am getting used to adding ironing into my routine (not with a huge success at the moment tho).

….write a blog post?

I have only recently started my blog so i am getting to grips with finding the time to sit and write my posts. Unfortunately I can’t write on the go at the moment as my blackberry app world won’t let me download WordPress for my phone (un-happy lady right now) and my Ipod is broken too. But i have today bought a new canvas-covered notebook for my blog ideas and drafts.

….look after yourself…i.e. wash your hair, paint your nails, take a bubble bath etc?

I’ve never been a girly girl, make-up is kept for nights out and special occasions when I want to feel ‘me’ again. I hardly ever get to relax in the bath, it’s normally an in and out job or I pinch my aunts shower. I love having my nails done and used to regularly have acrylic nails and art work but finances have stop me at the moment. In a nut shell on a normal day I wake up pull my hair back and off I go.

….spend time with your other half?

This question is easy, I don’t have one.

….do fun stuff with your Little Ones?

I try to enjoy fun activities with Miss C as much as time will allow us. In the situation i am in at the moment this can be difficult. I don’t drive so everything has to be done close to home, we regularly go and feed the ducks down the river when the weathers good enough. We love to paint, make and read things together.

Trip to the ducks!

….spend time with family?

I spend time with some of my family quite regularly as they live close to me, aj we try to spend a night there at least once every couple of weeks, my mum and dad I see most days but… the rest of my family is another story as they all live the other side of the country it’s hard to get to see them as much as I would like to. It’s approximately a 300 mile car journey, or a 5 and half hour train journey to get to them which I attempted once with Miss C, she loved it but was very difficult to keep her entertained for that long sat in one seat (still saving for that car). We have a family BBQ once a year where everyone meets at my aunts for the day this year was for her 60th birthday in April.

….socialise with friends?

I have been very lucky to have a great support system around me since Miss C was born, she has regular sleepover’s at her godparents, weekends with AA and Uncle A and regular monthly visits to her father, which gives me the time to have that me time I need to recharge my batteries, and socialise’s with my friends though most of these weekends I spend at the drag strip watching racing and having a few drinks (well more than a few) but what can I say i’m still young lol. At home i sometimes have friends round for dinner or a film and have the odd night out into the city but all three of these are rare at the moment.

Night out for a friend’s birthday!

….prepare an evening meal juggling a baby/toddler bedtime routine?

I try to cook an evening meal as much as possible though to my dislike a lot of the time its frozen food as I struggle with space in my kitchen also Miss C is very picky on what she likes to eat (very little meat and lots of fruit and veg), I always cook proper meals from scratch at aj’s as I have more space and can enjoy the prep and cooking.

….deep clean your house?

This never happens lol I’m lucky if I get the time or energy to deep clean one room never mind the whole flat I will be deep cleaning the new house before we  move in and the flat when I move out.

….do the food shopping?

I do a monthly shop while I am in the city that I get delivered from Iceland. Pop down the local shop for the fresh milk etc. I try to write a shopping list and keep to a budget but it never happens lol im a sucker for offers and always have full cupboards and freezer.

 ….bulk ironing?

This in my house has always been no existent up until I pinched my mum’s ironing board so I am trying to incorporate this into my routine which can be rather difficult sometimes. But I do try.

  1. I think you manage really well, I couldn’t imagine managing without a car, but then we do live in the middle of no where! Sounds like you could really do with a bit more space but well done for getting out and about with Miss C in the pushchair. Good for you, Miss C and the ducks! Thank you for continuing the meme and a lovely introduction for me.

    • Thanks Fiona I enjoy getting involved in things like these it makes me think and sit back and take perspective of things im finding it very helpful x
